Waiting out time on Mount Oylmpus

The summit of Mount Olympus, stands the meeting place of the gods. The mountain in northern Greece was said to be where the gods and goddesses built their palaces. Any of the gods could live on the great mountain summit, but no human was ever allowed there under any conditions.

The image was made with a different sampling technique. The source was shot for a rotating gif.

The Midnight Hour

The Midnight Hour

The Midnight Hour, the moment of doubt.

This started out as an idea whilst listening to a radio programme about pre victorian superstitions.

Seul dans la brume

Seul dans la brume

This is from the set I am working on called en marge du bonheur, link to the series here:   http://geoff-franklin.com/springboard/en-marge-du-bonheur/

This image has been sat on my desktop unfinished for a couple of months. It needed a couple of tweaks, I ended up stripping it back and completely rebuilding it – works though.

Deflected Memories

Deflected Memories

The other day I was trying to think of a musicians name from the 1970s.  I remember quite clearly sitting in a friends apartment, spring sun was streaming through the window and he put on a track by some obscure vocalist. I was blown away by this guys voice, but can I rememeber his name?  I can remember most of our conversation, which was mostly about sourcing rare music. I used to have a favourite record store round the corner from me in when i lived in Brooklyn, Holy Cow Records and at the time they had some great white label discs. But i cannot remember this guys name.  I have also lost touch with my friend and the search engines cannot find “singers name I cannot remember, you know the one I heard years ago”       Its one of those things I will be doing something totally unrelated and his name will pop into my head, memories are funny like that. This montage is about lost memories, memories that are tangible but just out of reach.
