London Picadilly in the rain

Waiting in the rain – London Picadilly.   I love the reflections that the rain creates and where better to be waiting for a friend than Picadilly Circus.

I love winter sun, after days of grey sky a rise in the pressure brings clear skies and with it great light. The winter sun is my favourite, I love the clarity of the winter light in the cold air and the shadows the low sun creates.

I was up on the rocks with my daughter Rae and her friend Charli and they were having fun leaping from one outcrop to another across a crevice with 30 foot drop. Sounds more dangerous than was, when I noticed their shadows cast down onto another rock. I popped off a few shots before they had moved onto another rock and the moment had passed.

Tunbridge Wells and its environs is home to some fantastic sandstone outcrops, great places for wildlife, amongst them are Eridge rocks are just south of Tunbridge Wells, looked after by the Sussex Wildlife Trust.

The rocks were popular in victorian times and were home to lavish dinner parties, they are now popular with climbers and walkers and has its own microclimate that is important for its rare mosses and lichen.
